Interfire Systems was engaged to deliver the complete design and construct fire protection package for the Tweed Valley Hospital Precinct, one of the most technically complex healthcare fire safety projects undertaken by our team. The scope encompassed a fully networked fire detection system built around a 10-panel network, providing seamless detection coverage and control across the entire precinct.
The installation comprised over 3,000 detection devices and 3,500 occupant warning speakers, ensuring comprehensive life safety coverage throughout every clinical, administrative and support area of the hospital. Integration demands on this project were extensive: the fire system interfaces directly with 140 mechanical ventilation fans, enabling automatic smoke control in the event of an alarm. High-level integration was also delivered with the Building Management System (BMS), access control, and the wet fire suppression infrastructure.
To complete the package, Interfire Systems designed and commissioned a full smart graphics system, providing the facility management team with a dynamic, real-time visual representation of the entire fire network for rapid fault identification and emergency response coordination.
